At Youth Safety Wales, we envision a future where every school meets the highest standards of safety, inclusion, and community cohesion - standards reflected in our SAFETY SCHOOL AWARDS initiative. We are committed to partnering with schools to place safety at the heart of their culture, creating environments where every student feels secure, supported, and empowered to thrive.

 

The Safety School Award is a recognition granted solely by YSW to schools that consistently demonstrate an exceptional commitment to student safety. 

This award is given to schools that prioritise safety and actively foster a culture of protection, awareness, and well-being.

Multiple levels of recognition are available, reflecting the depth and consistency of a school's safety practices.

YSW Schools that take a whole-school approach to safety and foster a culture of care and responsibility, are eligible for YSW Safety School status.

Safety schools prioritise the health & well-being of their school community by;

​

• providing YSW safety training to staff 

• supporting parents to navigate the challenges their children face

• delivering YSW safety education to students

• appointing Safety Champions
